Review: by Sports Journalist Ray Maloney ...
I have just finished reading "For the Sport of Dating", written by Kathy Elwell.
What a wonderful book!
As a sports journalist for 25 years, I found Kathy’s book to be well written and easy to read. The book, while basic in its information on the different sports, hits a home run by providing the reader with enough of the rules to get a basic understanding of the games that will allow them the ability to become a fan and share the games with their significant other.
Men and women can both gain from reading Kathy’s book which can provide them an opportunity to strengthen their relationship by being able to share at least a basic interest and knowledge of whatever sport their partner is interested in.
As a sportswriter, the book also reminded me of some of the rules that I had even forgotten about. And that’s saying something, because I also officiate many sports throughout the year.
